ā³ āOlivia Strauss is Running Out of Timeā by Angela Brown
I wasnāt sure about this one ⦠and I found lessons in it on the power of friendship, remembering that as life changes - goals and dreams can too. (Fiction)Ā
I asked for this one for Christmas of 2020, when I was coming up filing for my retirement from the Air Force; I was both a military commander & in a senior leadership role. I was really tired and trying to figure out what to do with my life while in the middle of trying to help people around me survive theirs. I read part of it - highlighted a bunch and then moved on. (Not an indicator of the book - it is how I read; lots of things at once, often driven by what is happening in my life and around me). I started over this year & I smiled when I got to the end and foundĀ Western Governors UniversityĀ Some books are just meant to be - and meant to be picked up at multiple times in life.Ā
I appreciate the guidance to know your micro-motives and to spot how the standardization covenant may not be guiding you and your life to fulfillment.Ā
š» āDebugging Teams: Better productivity through Collaborationā by Brian Fitzpatrick andĀ Ben Collins-Sussman. Some of my favorites from this one.Ā
ā¼ļøPeople are afraid of others seeing and judging their work in progress.Ā
āļøIf you spend your time working alone, youāre increasing the risk of failure and cheating your potential for growth.Ā
ā¤ļøAlmost every social conflict can ultimately be traced back to a lack of humility, respect, or trust.Ā
š Strong teams donāt arise spontaneously; theyāre carefully seeded and cultivated.Ā
11 books so far in 2024⦠looking forward to whatās to come.
